The FireKeepers Casino 400 was first ran in 1969 but under the name Motor State 500.  In fact this race has had 20 different in it’s nearly 50 year history.  This is the 2nd year it has been called the FireKeepers Casino 400. It is a 400 mile race – 200 laps – with 3 stages.  Stage 1 is 60 laps, stage 2 is also 60 laps and stage 3 is 80 laps.

The Michigan International Speedway is host to 2 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races each year – the FireKeepers Casino 400 and the Pure Michigan 400 in August.  Both are 400 miles and have the same 3 stages so past results at both races are important when doing your picks.

I’m going to do something a bit different this week.  I won’t be providing any picks but I will be providing one of the research tools that I use for making my picks so here’s a little bonus for all of you.  These are the spreadsheets we will be including with our premium NASCAR Lineup Generator that should be coming out real soon!  The column Fpts-FK are the fantasy points the driver accumulated in last year’s FireKeepers Casino 400 and the column Fpts-PM are the fantasy points the driver accumulated in the last Pure Michigan 400.  Both are run on the same track so both sets of stats are pertinent for your research.  I also recommend that you download the official NASCAR App that will provide you with the Practice and Qualifying Speeds for this race.  They usually don’t happen until Saturday so keep an eye on the NASCAR App.  You can download it for FREE from both the Google Playstore for Android phones or from iTunes for iPhones, iPads and iPod touch.  You can also view the Practice and Qualifying Speeds on Saturday at NASCAR.com (click here)

You can sort the columns by clicking on the arrows and you can scroll up or down on the spreadsheet.

Have an awesome NASCAR Sunday!
